Specialist Recruitment require a Qualified Surgical Care Practitioner to work within a leading Cardiothoracic Surgery service.
The successful candidate must have:
• RGN Level 1 / C&G 752 / ODP Level 3 qualification
• Qualified Surgical Care Practitioner status
• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
• Independent & Supplementary Non-Medical Prescriber qualification or be working towards this
• Master’s level education in Surgical Care Practice
• Teaching and/or mentoring qualification
Communication Skills:
• Excellent verbal, written and non-verbal communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives and multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent documentation and record-keeping skills
• Ability to negotiate and influence at all levels of an organisation
Additional Requirements:
• Experience handling sharp and delicate surgical instrumentation
• Ability to work safely in potentially hazardous clinical environments
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Flexible approach to working hours, including staying late when required
• Ability to work long days to meet service demands
• Participation in on-call rotas
• Strong decision-making and time-management skills
• Commitment to continuous professional development
• Ability to motivate and support colleagues while maintaining professional standards at all times
